Good Morning Year 5!
We hope that you had a good weekend and remembered to spend some time spoiling your dads/grandads yesterday.
The weather this week is forecast to be glorious. We hope that you are able to spend lots of time outdoors enjoying the sunshine – just don’t forget to wear sun-cream and to drink plenty of water!
Keep in contact to let us know what you have been up to,
Missing you lots,
Miss Wood and Mrs Canipa
Today, we would like you to watch the following video on multiplying decimals by 10, 100 and 1000. Then, complete the follow up activity below.
We continue to explore all there is to know about the most famous ocean liner, ‘Titanic’. This week we are concentrating on the sinking of the Titanic.
Watch Sinking of the Titanic – only up to 6:30 mins here:
Write down key facts about the sinking as you watch.
Imagine you are a news reporter in 1912 and you have just received the information that Titanic has sunk.
Write a news report explaining to your readers the events of the tragedy.
Once you have written your news report, if possible, you may wish to film your report as if it is aired on BBC news.
An example of a completed news report can be found here: The Sinking of the Titanic – Breaking News Report
