Good morning Year 5,
I hope you are enjoying the good weather this week. How are you getting on with the Active May challenge? Have any of you reached gold standard in anything yet? (well done if you have!).
Here are your tasks for today:
English: This is a task that will probably take you several days to complete, depending on how long you choose to make your folklore tale and whether or not you choose to spend time editing it once you have finished. Prepare for hand/wrist ache! (unless of course you have been doing lots of writing whilst off school).
We hope you enjoy this task. Feel free to tackle it in any way you please. For example, you might choose to talk your ideas through with someone at home before writing them down or you may choose to write the piece with someone else. It is entirely up to you.
Maths: PLEASE NOTE: School has subscribed to White Rose maths. There is no need for you to do this individually as parents. Thank you.

Scroll down to find: Summer Term – Week 1 (w/c 20 April) – Choose Lesson 2 (‘Subtracting decimals within 1’). Watch the video and then complete the activity (the answers are underneath).
[In your workbooks, the bottom halves of pages 10 and 11 are relevant to yesterday’s and today’s learning. There aren’t any questions in your workbook that test this learning, however].
Topic (Geography): For the rest of the week you can choose any of the following activities. All of the ideas relate to our theme of animals in the Amazon Rainforest. Any instructions or notes you may need are in the documents below the grid.
