Day 4 (18.06.20)

Good morning Year 5,

Happy Thursday. I have created a folder on our class page for any work you have competed and sent over the last couple of weeks. If you have completed any work, why not email it to me and I can share it on our class page 😊.

Here are your tasks for today:

Please watch the video and complete the follow up activity below.

Year 5 - Week 6 - Lesson 4 - Fractions as operators

This is "Year 5 - Week 6 - Lesson 4 - Fractions as operators" by White Rose Maths on Vimeo, the home for high quality videos and the people who love them.

I hope you are enjoying our work on the Titanic as much as I am. I am learning all sorts of interesting facts. Today you are going to focus on being out at sea on the Titanic.

For the first few days of its voyage, April 10th 1912 – the evening of April 14th 1912, life on board Titanic was fun and exciting for passengers on board.

This website gives you more information about the first few days. Read Titanic - the Voyage:

Imagine you are a passenger on board Titanic – you can select which class you are!

Create a postcard for a loved one back at home explaining your trip so far. Include key facts based on what you have read today, and throughout the week.

Make sure you continue to proof-read your work as you write, checking for spelling and punctuation.

I have included a postcard template below if you would wish to use it. Otherwise, you could fold a piece of paper in half, draw a picture on one side and write your message on the reverse.

Themed Week

Continuing our work on the theme of ‘Houses’, choose another activity from Monday’s ideas. Has anyone drawn a portrait of their house? Built a house structure/model or even researched houses from the past? We would love to see a photo of your work.

We hope you have a great day,

Mrs Canipa and Miss Wood
