Day 4 (23.04.20)

Good Morning Year 5,

It’s Thabulous, Thuper Thursday! Here are your tasks for today:

English: Reading Comprehension – Book 1: pages 10 and 11 (‘The Great Fire of London’).

English: Spelling – Statutory spelling list. Today, please concentrate on words beginning with B and C.

You can follow this link for some online activities:

https://www.spellingframe.co.uk/spelling-rule/54/54-Word-list-years-5-and-6---aw--to-cont-

Or you can look at the entire list here:

If you fancy a different way to learn the words, here are some wordsearches for the statutory spelling list:

Alternatively, have a look at the Year 3/4 list, if you have not yet secured all of these spellings.

There are wordsearches for these spellings too:

Maths: Today we are revising square and cube numbers, multiples, factors and prime/composite (non-prime) numbers. You can choose from these activities or have a look at both:

French: Today, we thought it would be a good idea to tune your ears back into the language and also do a bit of revision. We have found some links to videos (all very different).

(Tomorrow we are going to set more focussed learning tasks on one particular topic).

  • A cheesy video to remind you about greetings:

  • Songs covering general greetings:

  • Some (much more sensible) videos that cover a range of topics:

  • Something a little different 😊 to really immerse you in the language:
