Round up of our first week (look through these photos and videos before scrolling down for today's tasks)

Lexie has been learning a very important message in sign language

It’s FRIDAY Year 5!

We're sure you’re all pleased it’s Friday and glad that you won’t have to turn on your devices for two days to find out what tasks have been set.

Here are your final tasks for the week:

  • Task 1: Let’s finish off the week with a Joe Wicks workout. If you haven’t managed it yet, or you have missed some this week, then let’s give today’s a go.  If the workouts are really not for you, then do try to get some exercise in another way.

  • Task 2: Maths – Below is a document containing some arithmetic questions (because it seems like so long since we set some for you) and a list of key facts for you to check through to see if there are any you could focus on over the coming weeks.

If for any reason you are unable to view this document, please contact Miss Wood and she will find a way to send it to you.

We also want to say well done to Jack, George M and Jessica O for completing Miss Rudge’s maths challenge yesterday.  😊

We would love Year 5 to win the Sumdog competition, but that requires us all to work together (come on Team Year 5!). Maybe get in touch with your friends and encourage them to join in!

  • Task 3: English/PSHE – Here are some activities from Picture News to get you thinking and talking with your family:

  • Task 4: Art – It’s Friday – relax into the weekend with some drawing. Below we have listed some links to art tutorials. Each link has videos, giving you step by step instructions on how to draw different things. Have a look on the links, choose one and give it a go. We would LOVE to see your finished pieces, so please send us a photo and we can share it on our class page.

If you are up for a challenge, the following link has some tutorials on how to draw animals – they are beautiful.

As the sun is going on holiday for a bit, this idea might be nice for you to try today.

As always, any questions or problems, please contact us. Or if you would like to let us know what you have been up to, then send us a message. It’s always nice to hear from you.

Most importantly today, we would really like you to spend some time outside. The weather is due to become slightly cooler (and cloudy) so we would like you to make the most of the sunshine whilst it lasts.

Hope you have a great day and a lovely weekend,

Mrs Canipa and Miss Wood
