Friday 17th July 2020

Morning Reception Class,

TGIF (thank goodness it is Friday)! I can't believe it is your last day in Reception Class! It has been a rather strange year. I am so proud of how well you and your parents have worked at home learning. You have helped to keep everyone safe and you should be extremely proud of yourselves!  I just want to say a big thank you to all of you and to Mrs Canipa, Mrs Tilsley, Miss Marshall and Mrs King for teaching the two Reception bubbles. I hope that you all have a lovely summer. I will miss you all lots next year!

Here are the suggested tasks for today:-

1. Phonics  - Today, I would like you to have lots of fun. Below is a snakes and ladders game with phase 3 words. Can you play the game and correctly read the words on the board?

2. Writing - Below is a document produced by the English team at Lancashire County Council. They have come up with some Literacy lessons for Reception Class. The theme this week is 'Shark in the Park'. Below is the grid with the activities on with links to videos, texts and resources for the week. I have picked out an activity for you to do each day. However, feel free to select a different activity if you feel that your child would benefit/enjoy doing that activity more. I would love to see your work. Feel free to send me any work on Tapestry.  smiley

Talk to your child about what words rhyme in the book e.g. shark, park.

Provide them with some other simple animal words such a, cat, dog, hen and bat. Can they think of other words which could rhyme with each of them and write them down e.g. cat – hat, bat, sat or dog – frog, log, hog etc. They could draw pictures and label them.

3. Maths:-

I hope you all have a lovely time over the summer holidays! Stay safe and take care! I will miss you all lots! I wish you all the best as you move up into Year 1. I know that you will really enjoy your learning in Year 1!

Love
