Morning Reception Class smiley,

I hope that you are all well and that you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend celebrating VE Day.

Below are the suggested activities that you may wish to do today :-

1. Phonics - Have a listen to the following Jolly Phonics Phase Three video from YouTube. It should help you to recap on all those phase 3 sounds that we have learnt.

Remember, the digraphs (2 letter sounds) can be tricky to learn and we have to be like Albert the armadillo. We have to try and try and try again so if you are finding them tricky, please do not worry. Keep practising them and soon, you will be more confident with them. Remember, you have learnt lots of sounds this year and you have begun to learn to read, that is an amazing achievement. Be proud of yourselves and keep going with your learning. I am so proud of all of you too! smiley

After listening to the song, have a try at pages 70 and 71 in your Phonics CGP book.

2. Writing - Below is a document produced by the English team at Lancashire County Council. They have come up with some Literacy lessons for Reception Class. The theme this week is 'Down on the Farm!' You can pick any of the activities on the grid that you wish to do today. Remember to use your phonics when  writing any words, phrases or sentences. Please feel free to send me any work that you do. I would love to see which activities you have done. I will post this grid up every day. It is up to you whether you want to do parts of it or not.  Parents: Please note - these activities are only suggestions. Please only choose activities which you think your child would enjoy doing at home. smiley

3. Maths - Starter: Spend 10/15 minutes on Sumdog. Login details are on Tapestry. Any issues, ask an adult to email me.

Then, have a look at the following Powerpoint on 'fewer' and 'more' objects. Discuss what these two words mean and then have a try at working out which set of toys has more or fewer objects in. Then have a try at page 4 in your Maths CGP book.

If you are up for a challenge, have a look at the 'Topic Challenges for this week' section under week 6 on the remote learning for Reception. Feel free to send me any photographs of any learning at home. smiley

I hope that you all have a lovely day.

Take care and stay safe.

Love

Miss Farnworth. smiley
