Morning Reception Class smiley,

I can't believe it is your last week in Reception! It has been a very strange year. I really wish we could all be in class, enjoying our last week together. I really miss teaching you all! For those of you in Group B bubble, I hope you enjoy your last week in Reception and to those of you at home, I hope you have a lovely last week of home learning. To the Reception children in my bubble, I hope we all have a lovely last week too! I miss you all lots but I am so proud of how well you have coped with the last few months! You all deserve to have such a lovely time over the summer holidays!

Here are the suggested tasks for today:

1. Phonics - Today, we are recapping on the 'oa' sound. Here is an 'oa' dice game for you to play. You can either print the game out or open the game on your laptop/Ipad/computer. When you have rolled the dice, look at the number on the dice and read the words for that number. Can you use your phonics to help you read words with the 'oa' sound in?

2. Writing - Below is a document produced by the English team at Lancashire County Council. They have come up with some Literacy lessons for Reception Class. The theme this week is 'Shark in the Park'. Below is the grid with the activities on with links to videos, texts and resources for the week. I have picked out an activity for you to do each day. However, feel free to select a different activity if you feel that your child would benefit/enjoy doing that activity more. I would love to see your work. Feel free to send me any work on Tapestry.  smiley

Listen to the story Shark in the Park being read aloud.

Repeat listening and join in with the some of the words. Ask your child what their favourite part was and why? What does he see? What does he think it is? What would the shark say if it saw Timothy?

Write a speech bubble e.g. I want to be your friend or I can swim fast.

3. Maths - Today, we are recapping on addition. Have a look at the Powerpoint below on addition up to 10. Can you work out the answers to the addition number sentences?

Then, have a try at the following addition worksheet. You can either print the sheet off or look at it on a computer/laptop/Ipad and write the answers down on a piece of paper.

You will need to click on week 12, day 1.

If you are up for a challenge, have a look at the 'Topic Challenges for this week' section under week 14 on the remote learning for Reception. Feel free to send me any photographs of any learning at home.  smiley

Have a lovely day! smiley
