Morning Reception Class smiley,

I hope that you are all had a lovely weekend. I am back in school this week so please bear with me if your parents/guardians email me. I will reply as soon as possible. smiley

Here are the suggested challenges for today:-

1. Phonics - Starter - Have a try at pages 8 and 9 in your Phonics CGP book. Remember to use your cursive handwriting when forming the letters. Below, is a reminder of how we write our letters using cursive handwriting.

Today, we are recapping on the 'th' sound. Watch the following Alphablocks video on the 'th' sound below:-

Then, have a try at writing the 'th' words on the sheet below. You don't need to print the sheet out, you can write the words on a piece of paper or in a notebook.

2. Writing - Below is a document produced by the English team at Lancashire County Council. They have come up with some Literacy lessons for Reception Class. The theme this week is 'A Trio of Traditional Tales'. You can pick any of the activities on the grid that you wish to do today. Remember to use your phonics when  writing any words, phrases or sentences. Please feel free to send me any work that you do. I would love to see which activities you have done. I will post this grid up every day. It is up to you whether you want to do parts of it or not.  Parents: Please note - these activities are only suggestions. Please only choose activities which you think your child would enjoy doing at home. smiley
3. Maths - This week, we are learning how to measure height, length, weight and capacity.  Today, we are focusing on length and height. Have a look at the following PowerPoints on length and height below. Then, have a try at page 22 in your Maths CGP book.

If you are up for a challenge, have a look at the 'Topic Challenges for this week' section under week 7 on the remote learning for Reception. Feel free to send me any photographs of any learning at home.  smiley

I hope that you are all well and staying safe. Keep smiling. I miss you all lots!
