Morning Reception Class,

I hope that you all had a lovely weekend.

We are looking forward to welcoming some of you back on Wednesday. smiley

Parents please note: If your child is returning on Wednesday, there is a document below to support your child in returning back to school. There are a couple of pages within the document about what is important to you and your child when returning back to school. Feel free to print this document out and fill in these pages. You could email me photographs of any pages filled in. If you don't have a printer, feel free to write this information down in an email.

Here are the suggested tasks for today:

1. Phonics - This week, we are recapping on phase 3 sounds that we have learnt. Have a try at the following phase 3 task below:

2. Writing - Below is a document produced by the English team at Lancashire County Council. They have come up with some Literacy lessons for Reception Class. The theme this week is 'Teddy Bears' Picnic'. Below is the grid with the activities on with links to videos, texts and resources for the week. I have picked out an activity for you to do each day. However, feel free to select a different activity if you feel that your child would benefit/enjoy doing that activity more. I would love to see your work. Feel free to send me any work on Tapestry.  smiley

Watch and listen to the short version of Teddy Bear Picnic on CBeebies with Ferne and Rory:

Has your child ever been on a picnic? Recall and discuss any picnics you have shared. Have they heard the song before? Explain to the children that it is a very old song. Listen to and enjoy the 1950 Bing Crosby recording here, which has been set to some images of teddy bears’ picnics:

Tell your child that you will be holding your very own teddy bears’ picnic at the end of the week! You will need to plan who to invite and what to eat, but first, spend some time practising the song! You can read the lyrics and sing along here:
(Note: contains some American spelling).

3. Maths -

Click on the link above. Today, we are looking at week 9, day 1.

Have a try at the activities in the document below:

Then, have a look at the Powerpoint below on the number 15.  Today, we are going to learn all about the number 15. Perhaps, you could go on a number 15 hunt today around your house or on your daily walk. How many number 15's can you spot?

Then, have a try at the number 15 booklet below:

If you are up for a challenge, have a look at the 'Topic Challenges for this week' section under week 11 on the remote learning for Reception. Feel free to send me any photographs of any learning at home.

I hope that you all have a lovely day of home learning.
