Morning Reception Class,

Here are the suggested tasks for today:-

1. Phonics - Today, we are recapping on the 'er' sound. Have a try at reading 'er' words by playing Obb and Bob, Buried Treasure or Dragon's Den on Phonics Play below:-

Then, have a try at the following worksheets on the 'er' sound:-

2. Writing - Below is a document produced by the English team at Lancashire County Council. They have come up with some Literacy lessons for Reception Class. The theme this week is 'Alien Invasion'. Below is the grid with the activities on with links to videos, texts and resources for the week. I have picked out an activity for you to do each day. However, feel free to select a different activity if you feel that your child would benefit/enjoy doing that activity more. I would love to see your work. Feel free to send me any work on Tapestry. smiley

Have another look at the Aliens Love Underpants story and discuss which other clothes you might see on a washing line. Can you name them? Look outside at your washing line and your neighbours’ washing lines.

Then, continue with the task from yesterday where you created your own alien.

Can you create sentences about what your alien loves?

Make sure you say each sentence orally first, e.g. My alien loves socks. My alien loves t shirts. My alien loves shorts. Etc.

3. Maths -

Click on the link above. Today, we are looking at week 8, day 4.

Have a try at the activities in the document below:

Then, have a look at the Powerpoint below on the number 13.  Today, we are going to learn all about the number 13. Perhaps, you could go on a number 13 hunt today around your house or on your daily walk. How many number 13's can you spot?

Then, have a try at the number 13 booklet below:

If you are up for a challenge, have a look at the 'Topic Challenges for this week' section under week 10 on the remote learning for Reception. Feel free to send me any photographs of any learning at home.

Keep smiling and working hard! Have a lovely day!

Miss Farnworth.   smiley
