We are continuing to use the story of 'The Egyptian Cinderella' today so read it again from the power point. Then I want you to think about how this story is similar to the traditional fairy tale version of Cinderella. Before you begin, it might be a good idea to retell the main events in the traditional Cinderella story to someone.
In the story 'The Egyptian Cinderella', a god appears as a bird - a falcon that swoops away with Rhodopis' slipper. Ancient Egyptian gods were very different to our modern day ideas of a god. For a start the ancient Egyptians believed in many gods, not just one, and most of their gods took animal forms. Take a look at the power point below and the film clips that tell you about the main ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses (female gods). Then there is a god profile worksheet where you can invent a new Egyptian god or use one of the gods you have learned about today. Which is your favourite god or goddess? Why?
