Morning Reception Class,

I hope that you are all well and staying safe. smiley

Here are the suggested tasks for today:

1. Phonics - This week, we are recapping on phase 3 sounds that we have learnt. Have a try at the following phase 3 task below:

2. Writing - Below is a document produced by the English team at Lancashire County Council. They have come up with some Literacy lessons for Reception Class. The theme this week is 'Teddy Bears' Picnic'. Below is the grid with the activities on with links to videos, texts and resources for the week. I have picked out an activity for you to do each day. However, feel free to select a different activity if you feel that your child would benefit/enjoy doing that activity more. I would love to see your work. Feel free to send me any work on Tapestry.  smiley

Who shall we invite to our teddy bears’ picnic? Ask your child to choose three or four of their favourite toys/bears. When they have chosen them, talk about what is special  about each toy/bear. Can your child remember when they got it or from whom it was a gift?

It would be lovely if other family members could talk about their own favourite toy/bear from when they were little. You could search for an image on the internet to show your child or, even better, you might still have it! Encourage family and friends to join
in this conversation via a video call etc.

Once the toy/bear guests are finalised, fold some card or paper to make place labels for the picnic. Use your phonics to help you spell each of the sounds.

3. Maths - https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/early-years/

Click on the link above. Today, we are looking at week 9, day 2.

Have a try at the activities in the document below:

Then, have a look at the Powerpoint below on the number 16.  Today, we are going to learn all about the number 16. Perhaps, you could go on a number 16 hunt today around your house or on your daily walk. How many number 16's can you spot?

Then, have a try at the number 16 booklet below:

If you are up for a challenge, have a look at the 'Topic Challenges for this week' section under week 11 on the remote learning for Reception. Feel free to send me any photographs of any learning at home.

Keep smiling and working hard! smiley

Love

Miss Farnworth.   smiley
