Tuesday 28th. April
Good morning ladies and gentlemen! Hope you are all OK.
Today we are going to start to use a new book. It's called 'The Train to Impossible Places' and it's by an author called P.G.Bell. I've never read any of his books before. I've just finished this one and I really enjoyed it. Does the book's title make you start to ask any questions? How can places be impossible? Where are these places? Who can travel to these places? Can you only go by train? What are impossible places like? What is impossible about them?
Read this extract - it's the very start of the book. Then answer the questions to check your understanding. You can mark your own work with the answers sheet.

Think back to your Howard Carter/Tutankhamun work from yesterday. Maybe have another look at the power point. Here is a picture of Tutankhamun's death mask that was placed on top of his mummified body in his sarcophagus. It was found in the tomb by Howard Carter and is world famous for being so well preserved and containing so much gold as well as other precious gems. Draw or paint your own version of the death mask.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE AN EXTRA CRAFT ACTIVITY...
Make I-Spy in a bottle.
All you need is an empty transparent bottle. Fill it with rice. Then find some small objects to put in it. Obviously, the smaller the objects the harder they will be to spy. Write a list of the objects to find and stick it onto the front of your bottle. Give your I-Spy bottle to a member of your family and see if they can spot all of the objects. Eye/I Spy for ninjas!!!
Here's my effort...
