Morning Reception Class,

I hope that you are all ok and staying safe. smiley

Here are the suggested activities that you may wish to do today:-

1. Phonics - Start by doing pages 20 and 21 in your Phonics CGP book. These are recapping on sounds that we learnt earlier in the year. Remember to use your cursive handwriting when forming your letters and writing words.

Today, we are recapping on the 'igh' sound. Watch the following alphablocks video to remind you how to say the 'igh' sound and how to read words with the 'igh' sound in.

Then, have a try at the following worksheets on the 'igh' sound. Can you read and write words with the 'igh' sound in?

2. Writing - Below is a document produced by the English team at Lancashire County Council. They have come up with some Literacy lessons for Reception Class. The theme this week is 'Over the Rainbow'. You can pick any of the activities on the grid that you wish to do today. Remember to use your phonics when  writing any words, phrases or sentences. Please feel free to send me any work that you do. I would love to see which activities you have done. I will post this grid up every day. It is up to you whether you want to do parts of it or not.  Parents: Please note - these activities are only suggestions. Please only choose activities which you think your child would enjoy doing at home. smiley

3. Maths - This week, we are learning how to tell the time (O'Clock). Below is an O'Clock time matching game. Can you match up the correct times? If you don't have a printer, you could scroll through the different times on a laptop/computer and see if you can find the correct times? Or you could draw the correct times or make the correct time by pretending to be a clock. smiley

Then, have a try at page 28 in your Maths CGP book.

If you are up for a challenge, have a look at the 'Topic Challenges for this week' section under week 8 on the remote learning for Reception. Feel free to send me any photographs of any learning at home.  smiley

I hope you all have a great day! Keep smiling and keep working hard! Remember, if at first you don't succeed, try and try again! smiley

Take care and stay safe!

Love

Miss Farnworth. smiley
