Morning Reception Class,

I hope that you all well and staying safe. smiley

Here are the suggested tasks for today:

1. Phonics - This week, we are recapping on the phonic sounds and tricky words that we have learnt so far. Today, we are recapping on the 'ch' sound. Read the story below and circle any words with the 'ch' sound in.

2. Writing - Below is a document produced by the English team at Lancashire County Council. They have come up with some Literacy lessons for Reception Class. The theme this week is 'Monster Mash'. Below is the grid with the activities on with links to videos, texts and resources for the week. I have picked out an activity for you to do each day. However, feel free to select a different activity if you feel that your child would benefit/enjoy doing that activity more. I would love to see your work. Feel free to send me any work on Tapestry.  smiley

Listen to Bedtime for Monsters by Ed Vere:

Allow time to talk about and respond to the question asked in the book:

Do you wonder if somewhere, not too far away, there might be MONSTERS?

Talk about the different types of monsters.

Ask what could you do if you were scared of the monster?

Make a sign to keep the monster out or, with adult help, construct and label a monster trap. Look at the pictures of the
monster and describe him orally. With an adult, you could write a poem, e.g. Two horned, trumpet eared, cave dweller, bike rider etc. smiley

3. Maths -

Click on the link above. Today, we are looking at week 10, day 2.

Have a try at the activities in the document below:

Over the past few weeks, we have learning about teen numbers.

Can you now order numbers to 20 correctly?

Have a try at the activity below:

If you are up for a challenge, have a look at the 'Topic Challenges for this week' section under week 12 on the remote learning for Reception. Feel free to send me any photographs of any learning at home.  smiley

Keep smiling and working hard! Stay safe! smiley
