Morning Reception Class,

Here are the suggested tasks for today:-

1. Phonics - Today, we are recapping on the 'ur' sound. Remember, the action for this sound is pretending to eat a burger and then you see a wiggly worm in the burger so you shout 'ur'. Have a try at reading 'ur' words by playing Obb and Bob, Buried Treasure or Dragon's Den on Phonics Play below:-

Then, have a try at the following worksheets on the 'ur' sound :-

2. Writing - Below is a document produced by the English team at Lancashire County Council. They have come up with some Literacy lessons for Reception Class. The theme this week is 'Hoot! Hoot!' Below is the grid with the activities on with links to videos, texts and resources for the week. I have picked out an activity for you to do each day. However, feel free to select a different activity if you feel that your child would benefit/enjoy doing that activity more. I would love to see your work. Feel free to send me any work on Tapestry. smiley

Discuss how the story 'Owl Babies' is all about a family of owls. During lockdown, we have all been spending a lot of time with our own families or households.

Can you draw a picture of everyone in your family or household? Use your phonics to help you label each person.

If you can, write a sentence about each person, e.g. This is my Mummy. My sister is called Beth and she plays games.

You can use the template below if you like:-

3. Maths -

Click on the link above. Today, we are looking at week 7, day 3.

Today, we are focusing on counting to 20. Below are some counting activities. Start with challenge 1 and then move on to challenge 2 and 3 if you are feeling confident with your counting skills.  smiley

If you are up for a challenge, have a look at the 'Topic Challenges for this week' section under week 9 on the remote learning for Reception. Feel free to send me any photographs of any learning at home.  smiley

Keep working hard and keep smiling!
