Morning Reception Class,

I hope that you are all well and staying safe. Keep smiling! smiley

Here are the suggested activities for today:-

1. Phonics - Today, we are recapping on the 'or' sound. Have a look at the following story. Can you identify any words with the 'or' sound in? Circle any words that you find with the 'or' sound in.

2. Writing - Below is a document produced by the English team at Lancashire County Council. They have come up with some Literacy lessons for Reception Class. The theme this week is 'Shark in the Park'. Below is the grid with the activities on with links to videos, texts and resources for the week. I have picked out an activity for you to do each day. However, feel free to select a different activity if you feel that your child would benefit/enjoy doing that activity more. I would love to see your work. Feel free to send me any work on Tapestry.  smiley

Talk to your child about when they have been to the park. You could watch:

What did they see? Which was their favourite part? How did they feel when they were there?

Ask your child to draw a picture and label it with some of the things you might see in a park. Encourage them to use their phonics to do this. They could write sentences completing this structure e.g. I can see… I can see…

3. Maths - Today and tomorrow, we will be recapping on subtraction. Count out 10 objects (dinosaurs, cars, unicorns, dolls. teddies etc). Then, have a try at the following worksheet below. For each number sentence, you will need to count out how many objects your number sentence starts with (e.g. for 10 - 2, you will need to count out 10 objects). Then, have a look at how many objects are being taken away (e.g. in 10 - 2, you will need to take 2 objects away). Take that amount away and then count how many objects you have left. Can you write how many objects are left?

Have a lovely day! smiley
