Morning Reception Class,
Welcome to the 1st day in July. I can't believe that we only have a few weeks left of Reception!
Here are the suggested tasks for today:
1. Phonics - This week, we are recapping on the phonic sounds and tricky words that we have learnt so far. Today, we are recapping on the 'th' sound. Read the story below and circle any words with the 'th' sound in.
2. Writing - Below is a document produced by the English team at Lancashire County Council. They have come up with some Literacy lessons for Reception Class. The theme this week is 'Monster Mash'. Below is the grid with the activities on with links to videos, texts and resources for the week. I have picked out an activity for you to do each day. However, feel free to select a different activity if you feel that your child would benefit/enjoy doing that activity more. I would love to see your work. Feel free to send me any work on Tapestry.
Choose a monster puppet to make from one of these clips. Eight Fun To Make Monster Themed Crafts:
Halloween Craft Idea: How to Make a Paper Monster Puppet:
Watch the clip, pausing to discuss what you will need to do in order to make the monster.
Try to use words such as: first, next, then, finally and bossy verbs such as:
cut, stick, draw, put etc.
If you have the resources, make your own monster. Once completed, tell another family member how you made it. Can they follow your instructions and make their own? Can you read a story to your monster?
Click on the link above. Today, we are looking at week 10, day 3.
Have a try at the activities in the document below:
Today, we are continuing to recap on numbers 0 to 20.
Can you fill in the missing numbers in the document below?
If you are up for a challenge, have a look at the 'Topic Challenges for this week' section under week 12 on the remote learning for Reception. Feel free to send me any photographs of any learning at home.
I hope that you all have a lovely day!
