The Royal Wedding hits Christ Church

Christ Church celebrated the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Thursday 17th May by having a "street party" in our hall. The children loved wearing crowns and seeing all the Union flags and bunting. A big thank you, as always, goes to Mrs Sutton and the lunch staff who made this such a fun and memorable occasion!

We have a wonderful time watching The Railway Children. Quite a few of us had watery eyes when Dad returned.

    Burnley Faith Centre visit

On Friday 7th July, Afrasiab Anwar from Burnley Faith Centre came to visit us to discuss different aspects of Islam. With Years Two and Five, he discussed the Five Pillars of Islam, explaining them in great depth. The children got the chance to listen to passages of The Quran and repeated some of the Islamic prayers. We then responded by singing our own Lord's Prayer and compared the two. Afrasiab then showed us the Salah, explaining each process. The session finished with the children learning some of the Arabic alphabet and how to write the phrase "hubun w salam" or "peace and love" in English.

Enjoying worship in church. Listening to our super Year Six readers.
